The Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers Atlantic Chapter (CAPSAC) is pleased to announce its Annual General Meeting lineup of events. In accordance with it’s by-laws, CAPS-AC is inviting registered members to attend its AGM meeting, to take place on Sunday June 5th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Prince George Hotel, in Halifax. You do not require a ticket or registration to attend - all are welcome!

After a 2-year hiatus due to the ongoing effects of the global pandemic, CAPSAC is thrilled to announce the return of its AGM Master Classes and Gala Dinner event. This year’s host is Pier-Alexis Soulière, MS (Master Sommelier). Pier-Alexis is the current CAPS Best Sommelier of Canada and has previously won the title of ASI Best Sommelier of the Americas (2018), World Young Sommelier of the Year (2014), and in 2016 became one of the very few people in the world to have earned the title of Master Sommelier before the age of 30.

Gala Dinner: Sunday, June 5th, 6:30 Prince George Hotel
What does it take to be a champion sommelier? Champion sommelier Pier-Alexis Soulière, MS sommelier will talk about what it takes to become a champion. Fittingly the event will also celebrate CAPSAC’s latest graduating class of sommeliers. At this celebratory event, a 3-course dinner will be accompanied by 4 premium wines from Benjamin Bridge, Lightfoot & Wolfville, Maison Chapoutier and more, showcasing the best of Nova Scotia and France.
Gala Dinner Cost:
Member’s Price: $125 +hst
Non-Member’s Price: $145 +hst
Special Graduate Rate for dinner! (only for 2022 Graduates who have submitted their Intent to Graduate form) $75+hst!

Master Classes, Sunday, June 5th, Prince George Hotel, 2:00-5:00pm
Master Class #1: The German Pinot Noir Revolution
Wines of Germany head seminar instructor Moritz Volke will discuss the evolution of Pinot Noir (Spätbürgunder) in Germany including discussions on clonal selections, terroir and production methods. Includes samples of 4 wines.
Master Class #2: Mastering the Reds of the Rhône
Join Pier-Alexis as we take a taste journey through the Rhône from North to South, tasting wines from appellations such as the Cote-Rotie, Crozes Hermitages, Gigondas, Chateauneuf-du-Pape and others. Includes samples of 6 wines.
Master Class Cost:
Member’s Price: $55 +hst
Non-Members: $70 +hst
*Tickets include both Master Classes. No individual Master Class tickets available. Tickets for the tasting only will be available at 12pm on Tuesday May 24.

Package Tickets for the 'Tasting and Graduation Dinner' are available immediately, as well as tickets for the 'Graduation Dinner only'. We will not be releasing individual tickets for the Master Class until Tuesday May 24 at 12pm.
