TASTING EVENT DETAILS :
The Australians call them Stickies, some say Late Harvest, we freeze ours and others are so distinguished by their region that they're in a class all their own!!!
Dessert wines can run the gamut from off-dry Riesling, to effervescent Moscato, to full-on dessert wines like the elegant, sweet wines of Tokaj or its French counterpart Sauternes and neighbouring Barsac. These sweet wines from around the world can be an incredibly delicious pairing for many foods and occasions!!!
Why drink sweet wines??? Because sweet wine has residual sugar in it, they are much lower in alcohol than dry wines and they have an incredible ability to match the flavours in food that can’t always be achieved with dry wines. With this Tasting, we'll explore one of the basics of wine and food pairing : Sugar, fat, and salt, consumed in concert, can produce the most ethereal gastronomic harmonies!!!!
